10 Things That Make a Great Road Trip-Coffee & Slow Mornings Pt. 4

I’m currently sipping on coffee as I type this, I mean what an amazing beverage!!! Literally so good, that comedians have a show about getting coffee, it’s THAT good. There’s nothing quite like grabbing a coffee in the morning though, it’s almost zen-like during vacations. Perhaps that’s the peace I was referring to between the two spectrums of emotions I look for in a trip…laughter and pain.

I think amidst the hectic and busy parts of life, we find ourselves during vacation to break apart from the routine that is adult life. Although we were still scheduled to go to places and didn’t get to sleep in that much, it was still so amazing to enjoy the mornings at your own pace. Especially when you're taking in so much of life in a short span of time, it’s incredibly soothing to let your mind digest all that it’s consumed over a nice, warm cup of coffee and perfectly cooked eggs.

Coffee when you’re feeling tired? Montreal bagels when you’re feeling hungry? Ugh, so good.

At the opposite end of the day, we also had some chill nights that were also just as relaxing as our mornings (because we were in the middle of nowhere hah!). There’s something about the sun setting and making people more reflective about themselves. It was incredibly fulfilling having life chats late with friends at night, talking about things that are on our minds. It’s crazy to think how much common ground we can have with other people, particularly our friends! To know someone else going through the same struggles as you, and learn the lessons they got from overcoming these obstacles, it makes me feel so grateful that I have such wise friends.

At the end of the day, I think life is about the connections and relationships you make with people. So during the peaceful slower moments of the trip, whether it be the morning or the evening-we all get a chance to really absorb all the lessons and blessings life has given us.

Wait…weren’t we just talking about coffee and slow mornings?
